Clones Attack!

Inspired by the ongoing debate over human cloning legislation here in Washington State (blogged about here and here, among other places), I just posted HERE an old cartoon on the subject. It ran in The Spectator--Seattle University's student newspaper.

1. So... If I clone myself, do I get to vote more than once?

Hehe.

2. Fun cartoon, Seth. Maybe you could do an update of your comic, using Sen. Jeanne Kohl-Welles instead of the Skunk-lady. And I'd guess you'd have to have someone making sure they were all killed. . . .Ugh. Too gruesome.

I think these people resort to obfuscatory verbiage not just to hide the reality from others, but so they themselves don't have to deal with the reality of breeding human beings in order to harvest them and kill them. Again, Ugh.

3. Seth, there's more than just cloning on our moral concsience. Gay Rights is something you and the DI should be focusing on!

The Homosexual Agenda is advancing in Olympia, receiving UNEQUIVOCAL support in Seattle (who would've guessed?)

4. Apparently, Gregoire plans to use tobacco "bonus bucks" for her Life Science Discovery Fund, even though the state says it can't fund current programs. The legislature is considering whether to use the regular tobacco bucks this year to help balance the budget, and Gregoire has not indicated whether she favors this or not.

"Moore said using the tobacco money -- which Gregoire has shown no support for -- would not necessarily derail Gregoire's proposed Life Science Discovery fund, which would use $350 million from the bonus money Washington gets on top of its original portion of the settlement because of Gregoire's leading role in securing it.

Faced with a similar budget hole in 2002, the Legislature committed about one-third of future payments from the tobacco settlement to get $400 million immediately."

5. Didn't the computers breed and harvest human life for power in "The Matrix?"

6. Hey CR, gimme a break. Saying it's anal sex week to a 13 year old AIDS victim and getting called on it is not the advancement of Homosexual Rights. Didn't your mother ever tell you that if you can't say something nice don't say it at all? Furthermore, why are you so scared of gays not having to worry about getting fired from a job or being the targets of hate crime? Could it be that you have some unresolved sexuality issues yourself? Maybe the thought of another man gazing at you longingly gets you a little "bothered" "down there"
