I'll be on two radio programs this afternoon with a recount of Ron Sims' morning press conference -- John Carlson KVI 570 at 3:00, and Dave Ross 710 KIRO at 5:30.
Posted by Stefan Sharkansky at February 09, 2005 01:44 PM | Email ThisThe Shark invited onto the Dave Ross show (The one time I won't want to miss it)!
Hmmm, something is suspicious here...
... like maybe good ol' Dave hurting for ratings?
Posted by: EricR on February 9, 2005 03:29 PMOf course, I puked yesterday when I turned on John Carlson and heard Kirstin the Genius, Ken Schram and the rest. I'm getting nauseous just thinkin about it again...
Posted by: SnoCo Voter on February 9, 2005 03:59 PMWe still have weeks of depositions and further evidence gathering. The Dems are screwed. Just watch them start appealing stuff to delay the inevitable. Remember that mouthy broad Brost telling us to watch who files the appeals to see who won last Friday? Let's see what happens. The R's could easily file but...who knows. The Dems have painted themselves into another corner.
Let the depositions begin!!
Recount... no pun intended I suppose..;-)

I think this looks like the case. Whether Logan decides to fall on his sword, or is pushed (most likely) it will probably happen. There has to be a "fall guy," and Logan seems like a good choice by Sims, et al to take the blame.
Posted by: JG on February 9, 2005 06:55 PMHe should have been reminded strongly that in an election, there's no slush fund of spare votes [not even in King County?...Ed.] waiting to rectify the bad transactions, so the County must take its responsibilities to the voters far more seriously than his bogus banks do their depositors. The County might be forgiven thirty or forty mystery ballots, but not 1800. Stefan was right, that other counties do a far better job at the whole business.
And he parroted the Dems talking point about 'no proven fraud' (one of Paul Barendt's favorites), BEFORE THE EVIDENCE HAS EVEN BEEN SUBMITTED AND EXAMINED. Let him try again after discovery, and listen to that plummy voice do double backflips trying to cover its tracks.

Posted by: Ken Hupp on February 9, 2005 07:20 PMGive me a break! Ron Sims tried that one in '94 as a US Senate candidate and went nowhere.
Posted by: Michele S on February 9, 2005 08:00 PMYou can just imagine Logan walking out to the car today, muttering, "Last time I'm meetin' with Sims in public..."
Pretty unclear whether he'll last long enough to have a second opportunity.
Posted by: scott158 on February 9, 2005 08:26 PMTo be fair to Dave Ross -- I didn't sense that he was afraid of me and it wasn't his idea to schedule me for the very end of his show. His producer initially asked me if I could be on at 4 or 5. I had a prior commitment until 5:15 and agreed to be on at 5:30.

and isn't Ross quite the little fact checker.
I hope she's greeted with all due respect (which isn't much).
According to the Spokesman-Review
"Gregoire to keynote Thursday meeting"
4:00pm, Davenport Hotel, hosted by The Spokane Area Economic Development Council.
She will discuss "statewide economic development
strategies." That must mean taxes, right?
A trip to Fairchild AFB is included.
Let the "Healing (or Heeling) Tour" begin!
I only live 70 miles away, wish I could attend in an orange suit, but I can't.
Posted by: JG on February 10, 2005 07:26 AMthat is 225 ballots each.
hmm, how long did that take?
To extend the metaphor, Ross builds straw dogs and straw men (he's too feminized to construct straw women, ergo his sycophancy to Christine Gregoire, noted elsewhere) so he can knock them down and impress his Seattle-lite audience.
Will be a different story when he swims with the Shark, or tries to jump it, but beware: When Mr. Sharkansky builds a stonewall argument, Ross will shift the debate or discussion to straw, then he'll huff & puff. That's what he does best.
Posted by: sandalista on February 10, 2005 01:33 PMLOL! Man, had to pick myself up off the floor with that one!
Then throw in:
>>Sims said "...he's asking me about numerators >>and denominators" and looked confused when the >>question was asked.
Seems math isn't one of Sims' strong points.
Guess I should laugh too hard, it's not mine either ;-)
