The document is a comprehensive, candid and factual report on the elections division and its performance during the 2004 primary and general elections.
The news conference will take place tomorrow morning:

Executive Conference Room
32nd floor, Bank of America Tower

I just looked at Ron Sims' Web page and did not see anything at all about the election or the court case. It appears to me that he is trying to distance himself from the whole botched mess.
Posted by: Gil on February 8, 2005 09:38 PMLogan is not honest enough to be truly candid. If he was, then he would have come out much earlier and said that the election was too close to call on account of errors. And then he would have been very open about everything that went wrong, with particular note to how close the outcome of the counts had been. Had he done this early on, we could have avoided all of this mess.
He was clearly under pressure to deliver a partisan result to his masters.
Posted by: Jeff B. on February 8, 2005 09:48 PMAnd Logan's Master is Ron Sims.
Posted by: Janet on February 8, 2005 10:06 PM. . . three words I do not normally associate with Dean Logan.
Posted by: Shannon K on February 8, 2005 10:17 PMLet's rent a bunch of moving vans to Olympia and help move her out!
Posted by: GS on February 8, 2005 11:05 PMLogan has little credibility with the majority of Washington state citizens - Sims has even less...
They will look and sound like fools! They just can't spin it this time..
Posted by: Deborah on February 8, 2005 11:58 PMStolen just like the Land from his CAO land steal.
Underestimated just like his Light rail project was - twice to three times the estimated and voted on cost - half the distance - Still waiting.......
I am thinking I want to be at the courthouse when the final verdict is read!
Go Dino!
Posted by: GS on February 9, 2005 12:31 AMJust name a date. I'll clear my schedule.
Re: Sims, Logan. The one thing that comes to mind is "dog and pony show." Hmmm. That and "one-trick pony."
History indicates that this is going to be a case of less substance than meets the eye.
Posted by: scott158 on February 9, 2005 12:47 AMMakes me feel better about land theft, election theft, and wasted taxes! Doesn't it make you feel better too?
Posted by: Joe on February 9, 2005 01:19 AMNow they find themselves increasingly trapped by their own past statements. Every time they try to come up with a new explanation, it contradicts something they said before. With David Irons now weighing in, they have to worry too about any past assertions they made to the elections board.
A lovely predicament, I think. :)
Posted by: JeanneB on February 9, 2005 04:28 AMcomprehensive: confusing
candid: suspicious
factual: fairy tales, /SEE; Logan in Wonderland
report: written politically motivated statement
performance: a public presentation
I "feel" so much better.
Posted by: Terry , Clark C on February 9, 2005 07:58 AMConvince me.
Posted by: Michele S on February 9, 2005 09:28 AMDo they have a tendency to release such reports or are they just trying to assauge our doubts up front?
Posted by: BOrange on February 9, 2005 09:37 AMWhere's the outrage ? Sims should probably be recalled for his ineptness, pi** poor judgment and coverup here along with everything else he has tried to cover up (i.e. Sound Transit and the CAO). The Democrat machine sounded off and prefers to ignore the problem, which cannot stand to be ignored. Why do residents of King County let these problems fester into a full-blown cancer ? Hopefully there will arise a formidable candidate to oppose this guy who is running King County into the ground !
Posted by: KS on February 9, 2005 11:14 AMIt is one of several things that he realizes could easily come back to haunt him in his campaign.
Posted by: jaybo on February 9, 2005 11:27 AMAfter making an absurd statement that 99% accuracy would make any bank proud, laughter erupted in the room.
Posted by: jaybo on February 9, 2005 12:03 PMYou are joking right? Although I would not be that surprised if you were not.
