The entire Sound Politics crew extends a warm welcome to the newest member of the extended family -- Caitlyn Elyse Crouch, born today at 6am.

Baby Caitlyn, mother Gretchen and father Brian are all doing fine.

I don't know what it is about girls and their Dads! But you might want to practice now - drinking tea with your pinky out.....heh...so you'll be ready when the parties start in a couple of years! (Mom will provide the pretty hats and cookies!)

Congrats, and some advice you probably already know:

Put your arms around her every day and show her what consistent male warmth and affection is. That way when she's 13 or 14, she won't have the need to run out and find it elsewhere.
