For your comic relief concerning the recent Governor's race and election fiasco, I offer my recent cartoon contributions, here and here.

Not much that we have done since our own Independence from British monarchy, with perhaps the exception of the Civil War which reaffirmed the original ideals of our Republic, compares to what happened recently in Iraq, Ukraine, or the velvet revolution.
Posted by: DeadManVoting (aka Iguana) on February 1, 2005 12:34 PMI went down to get my dreaded emissions test (down in S KING) and the kindly old gentleman doing the testing asked me about the orange ribbons tied to my antenna. For a brief moment the scenario of actually FAILING my test because of politics crossed my mind, but then I just told him "They're in support of a RE-VOTE." I swear he gave me the longest, most solemn stare I have ever encountered, then he burst into a HUGE grin and gave me 2 thumbs up. He said he didn't know about the ribbons, so I told him I got my orange construction ribbon for a 'buck/49' at McClendon (ty for that hint, Michelle) and that when I got home I'd put my roll IN my car to share with future inquiries.
After my test, he stood at my window holding my results and said, "You know, we USUALLY charge folks with WSU stickers on their cars an extra $20, but since all of us here are for the RE-VOTE and we like your ORANGE RIBBONS we'll let it pass... this time." I'm still giggling over that charming old gentleman!
And yes, that roll of ORANGE RIBBON is now IN the car so I can share with RE-VOTE supporters whenever I get the chance.
