But will every vote count?

Create some momentum via this article-side Seattle Times opinion survey, described in our comments section as "a lame-donkey poll" or something like that:

Republican Dino Rossi is now calling for a new election. Should we vote again?

Vote your conscience. Or ignore it.
Same effect, eh?

Better to inform Gregoire's office of conventional wisdom, as Shark suggested earlier.

1. These things are worthless. However, it's amazing how many "real" news outlets will quote them tomorrow, to wit: "A Seattle PI reader poll indicated that blah blah blah are in favor of blah blah blah", and Mr. and Mrs. Average Joe, watching ib the tube at home, will accept the results as if it were etched in stone. A pox on these things!

2. Two things right away that caught my attention.......

irresponsible? How many millions did CG cause the state to lose by her irresponsablity?
let's start with 22 as in twenty-two million (that we know of)

and....

"That count, done precinct by precinct by bipartisan teams with swarms of observers watching"

really? swarms? of bipartisan observers?

"stretching" was the only reality I saw in that article.

Who are they trying to convience?

3. You may as well add "wayward ballots"
and "stretching her lead to three digits"
to that list, one hundred and something is barely 3 digits

and now go on with CG's resume......

may I add the tobacco fund which I would think
would include something to keep people from smoking or help them to stop includes a folder containing:

1 folder
1 paper clip
1 rock
3 information papers
1 stir straw

and they can't give them to the Dr. office,
only from their request line.

4. Dino had his opportunity to have all votes in all counties reviewed manually but insisted that it was not necessary. What is truly absurd is that the GOP now cries foul after insisting against the common review of statewide ballots when they had the chance. Now the call comes out for a re-vote?

When we're well within the margin of error, we should be reviewing all ballots for potential error. Half of the state is going to be disappointed no matter what the result.

If Dino wins, congratulations should go to the GOP for revisiting that which they turned down when it was called for by the opposition. If Christine wins, I guess fouled up voting processes delivered a country and cost a state.

5. This poll allows you to vote as often as you want. You can be sure that just as they did in the Web Blog awards from Daily Kos, and just as they did in King County, the Democrats will be manufacturing votes for this poll as often as they can. So take it with a grain of salt.

6. The Times poll: A poll where you can vote once per day. Yah, right. this MUST be King county. Vote early and OFTEN! Would it KILL them to just limit it to one vote one person?? It is worthless

7. The Times poll:
1) Vote.
2) Click the Back button on your browser.
3) Hold the Shift key, and click the Refresh button on your browser.
4) Vote again.
5) If you're in King County, repeat as necessary until the numbers come out right.

8. "Democrats, aided by presidential candidates John Kerry and Howard Dean, rounded up $1 million in donations, mostly online, to order the hand recount."

Excuse me? Suddenly the $500,000 put up by the Kerry campaign and the DNC is transmogrified into "donations, mostly online" "rounded up" by Kerry and Dean specifically for the recount? Somehow I doubt that the thousands of Democrats who donated to those two campaigns did so with the expectation that their money would be sent here...

9. Rossi should have filed multiple lawsuits on Monday. By taking the passive approach, he handed the election to Gregoire. A clear majority of the public now accepts her as Governor-elect. If the lawsuits had been filed, the public and the legislature would be more willing to consider another election.

10. Sorry guys, couldn't resist. I have 6 computers at the house with 2 different browsers installed. Hint, hint. Wink, wink. I think they'll have to do a revote in this poll. :-)

11. And speaking of that misrepresentation of John Kerry's and Howard Dean's contributions to the recounts....

One of my coworkers voted for John Kerry and Dino Rossi. He also donated to John Kerry's campaign. I asked him the other day how he felt about John Kerry keeping $15 million in the bank after the election and then kicking down a quarter million to Christine Gregoire. He still hasn't answered. I wonder if he got his money's worth?

12. Just wanted to congratulate Governor Gregoire on a job well done. She will make a very good Governor for you all in THE BLUE STATE of Washington.
