The hippie-dippie credulous dupes at the Shi'ittle Post-Intelligencer are peeing their pants with joy that Iran's mullahs have hoodwinked the Europeasers to buy more time to build an atomic bomb:
Iran's agreement with the European Union ought to allow a cooling of tension. Diplomacy is working. If those meanie democracy-promoting Bush cowboys disapprove of a fascist dictatorship, the P-I editors can be counted on to defend that dictatorship's nuclear weapons program! The message won't find an easy reception in the Bush administration, which appears to want a change of Iranian government. But even modest progress deserves recognition.
Meanwhile, the P-I's useful idiots find themselves at odds with the Iranian democratic resistance movement:
The "Student Movement Coordination committee for Democracy in Iran" (SMCCDI) stresses that obtaining the nuclear technology for peaceful means such as producing electricity, is one of the indisputable rights of all nations, including Iranian nation. But, on one side the secrets of mullahs in this matter and production of aggressive weapons such as long range missiles, and declamations of the Islamic Republic Sepah (Guardians of Revolution) commanders, make the peaceful use of this program doubtful and jeopardize the national interests of Iran, and on the other hand, the responsibility of use of nuclear energy must be with the real elected representatives of people of Iran.Maybe the P-I should spend more of its time supporting the Iranian democratic movement instead of cheering every time the mullahs pull the wool over the eyes of some Pouilly-Fuisse-swilling Europeaser diplomat. But that probably wouldn't go over as well with the P-I's readers. Posted by Stefan Sharkansky at November 30, 2004 12:21 PM | Email This
