Radical Idea

Only in a Workers' Paradise would it be considered radical for a billion-dollar-a-year business to be left to compete in the marketplace without a taxpayer subsidy:

For most of his first year as a Port of Seattle commissioner, Alec Fisken quietly but persistently pushed what some at the authority's headquarters consider a radical idea: King County taxpayers shouldn't subsidize a bustling seaport.
It's really about time to wean the Port off the public teat.

Four-term Port Commissioner Patricia Davis is up for re-election next year:

Maybe people will support an end to the tax, Davis said. "But I'm sticking up for it."
It's also about time to vote Patricia Davis into retirement. How's that for a radical idea?

1. Of course, it was lefty member Fisken and his lefty collegue Malloy that are pushing the idea .. the more GOP leaning members are not in support.

2. Every once in a while I find common ground with lefties who disapprove of corporate welfare.
