Downtown Seattle Republican Club

Upcoming dinner speakers at the Downtown Seattle Republican Club, Mondays at 5pm at the College Club at Fifth and Madison.

Nov. 22: Armen Yousoufian, whose landmark Public Disclosure Act lawsuit against King County Executive Ron Sims for documents relating to the Kingdome/Seahawks Stadium fiasco was recently decided by the state Supreme Court. Armen will be speaking about his lawsuit and the Public Disclosure Act in general.

Nov. 29: Maggie Fimia, Shoreline City Councilmember, former King County Councilmember (D) and dogged critic of big-ticket public infrastructure projects like Sound Transit and publicly financed sports stadiums. She'll be speaking about Republicans and Democrats finding common ground to address regional problems, using "laser surgery" approaches instead of big-ticket infrastructure.

Upcoming (specific date TBD): Seattle Public Schools Superintendent Raj Manhas will discuss the School District's new Five Year Plan.

Events are free, except for the cost of the ala carte dinner from the College Club menu. More details, including directions and information about FREE parking, here.

2. Shark, major correction: I meant to ask about getting the Armen Yousoufian tape because I think a lot of people who couldn't make it would want to watch? Is TVW going to carry it?

3. I am a Republican who appreciates Maggie. I disagreed with her in several areas. But she got the big things right - stadium(s) and Sound Transit. And I like her spirit - she is still fighting. I will see if I can make it on 11/29.
