Rossi Victory Predicted

U.Va. Professor and political prognosticator Larry Sabato predicts a win for Dino Rossi.

Like Missouri, we have gone back and forth on this one. We are going to go against the polls, which suggest that Democrat Christine Gregoire will win. The polls are probably right, but we have a suspicion in the back of our political minds that after 20 years of Democrats, Washington will elect a Republican governor in Dino Rossi.

Even here in the heart of hippie-dippie liberal Seattle I see ZERO passion for Christine Gregoire, except perhaps in the P-I newsroom. Gregoire was annointed by the Panjandrums of the Permanent Government. Her only popular support is perfunctory and stale. On the other hand, I see a lot of enthusiasm for Dino Rossi. When I walk around Green Lake wearing my Rossi T-shirt I get a lot of thumbs up and shouts of "nice shirt", "Go Dino!", etc.

Let's help make it happen.

Sabato also predicts a few Republican pick-ups in the Senate and a tie in the Electoral College, which would throw the presidential decision to the House, ensuring Bush's re-election.

1. Agreed. Once I heard many in the black community were even endorsing Rossi, I knew it was over for Gregoire who has shown the enthusiasm of a sloth in this election. I for one, am extremely excited at the prospect of some fresh thinking in Olympia. Now if we could just oust Patty Murray....

We all know that the Presidential vote is very tight, yet we will likely know the results before our polls close at 8:00 on Tuesday evening. History has taught us that voters in Washington of both the winning and losing Presidential campaign have stayed home because they already know the results.

Don't let the hype over the national elections keep you from voting for your future in Washington. The polls for the Governor's race show that it is a dead heat. Vote early if possible, if not, please go to the polls even if we know the results of the Presidential race.

I encourage you to vote for Dino Rossi.
