Baghdad Jerk

Seattle Congressman "Baghdad Jim" McDermott is not only a hallucinating street corner lunatic, a tyrant's useful idiot and a Jihadist fellow traveler, he is also a garden variety jerk.

A federal judge in Washington, D.C., has ordered Congressman Jim McDermott to pay $60,000 plus attorney fees that could total more than $545,000 to a Republican congressman who sued McDermott for leaking his cellphone conversations to news reporters.
In a harshly worded decision received by attorneys this week, U.S. District Court Judge Thomas Hogan said McDermott's "willful and knowing misconduct rises to the level of malice in this case."
No, I'm not going to call for McDermott's resignation. Seattle is going to send a loonatic-fringe liberal to Congress in any case, so I'd prefer to stick with the loonie liberal who is both a perpetual embarrassment and too ineffectual to get anything done.

1. For anyone not in the priveleged, protected group what he did was criminal. He knowingly received and passed on a tape recorded illegally. And it is evidence of his intent that he lied to the New York Times about it: he said he only knew what he read in the newspaper after he had listened to the tape and passed it on.

I would like to see Carol Cassidy elected, but you have a point, Stefan. If you have to have a hard left liberal "representing" you (the 7th includes my part of Lake Forest Park) then it's best that he be an embarassment to his cause and ineffectual.
