Governor's race update

I've been saying that Dino Rossi is running to be the people's governor, while Chris Gregoire is running to be the government's governor. It's also fair to say that Dino Rossi is running to be the governor for Washington state, while Gregoire is running to be the governor for out-of-state trial lawyers and Hollywood feminists

Nearly a half of Gregoire's support has come from out of state, about double what Rossi has gotten.

Meanwhile, the polls show that Rossi is still behind but gaining rapidly. Gregoire and the Democrats are getting desperate and releasing more bogus ads:

In a radio ad, Beth Hjalseth of Fircrest identifies herself as a Republican who’s crossing party lines to support Democratic gubernatorial candidate Chris Gregoire.

But Hjalseth’s only donations on record have been to Democrats, and her vote in last month’s primary – when she chose a Democratic ballot – was her first in Pierce County in at least eight years.

Sitting governors are usually high-minded and magnanimous, except when they fear they are losing. Gregoire's mentor, outgoing Gov. Locke, is now lashing out at Rossi with petty and pathetic smears.

"That is the choice of this campaign - who can change this business environment around so we can be successful? I've been 21 years in the business world and my opponent has been a state government lawyer for her whole life. She knows nothing about the private sector, other than suing them."
