The Seattle Medium, a newspaper which serves the African American community, has issued its endorsements for a variety of state and federal offices. Out of 19 partisan races, the Medium endorsed 17 Democrats and 2 Republicans -- Doug Sutherland and Dino Rossi. I can't find any articles on the Medium website that explain its endorsement of Dino Rossi, but a press release from the Rossi campaign (not yet online) notes that:
During the primary campaign, Rossi met with Democratic challenger King County Executive Ron Sims for candidate forums sponsored by Tabor 100, an African-American business organization in Seattle; the Tacoma City Association of Colored Women’s Clubs; and the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle. Gregoire failed to attend any of these forums.Christine Gregoire to this day defends her service as the president of a college sorority that excluded blacks and Jews. Posted by Stefan Sharkansky at October 26, 2004 10:00 PM | Email ThisMost recently, Rossi attended a Brotherhood Breakfast at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Seattle. Gregoire was invited, but again failed to attend.
In a news story in The Seattle Medium in late August, Rev. Dr. Leslie Braxton, senior pastor at Mt. Zion Baptist Church said, “I’ve never seen Christine Gregoire do as much as even show up or speak to our community.”
Speaking of David Boze, I called in the Mike Siegel show to lend my support to Dino during the EFF update (which discussed Gregoire & public records) and I was left hanging! Res ipsa loquitur!
