I tend to favor Republican candidates in most cases, but every once in a while I will endorse a Democrat. In this case I am endorsing incumbent Representative Mark Miloscia in the 30th district (south King County).
His Republican opponent, Tony Moore, is a member of the Axis of Evil.
Miloscia voted for the charter school bill in the legislature earlier this year. Miloscia has endorsed R-55. To the Soviet-style commissars who run the teachers' union, supporting school choice is the ultimate crime of treason for a Democrat to commit, and Miloscia found himself on the wrong end of the WEA's Stalin-like purge. So the WEA approached Miloscia's challenger Tony Moore with an offer he chose not to refuse. Moore used to support charter schools. But he has since changed his mind. Yes, he sold out the children of Washington state for a $675 contribution from the WEA and thrill of telling people that he's "the only Republican legislative candidate endorsed by the Washington Education Association". As if that's something to be proud of.
The Association of Washington Business, which tends to favor Republicans in competitive races, also endorsed Miloscia.
