The Seattle Times Nicole Brodeur writes today about her chat with Teresa Heinz Kerry, and concludes, admiringly, that Heinz Kerry is "liberal scum". In addition, Heinz Kerry's answer to one of Brodeur's questions suggests to us that the ketchup heiresss thinks that her husband is, well, lecherous scum:
If I was 80 cents short at the grocery store, and John Kerry was behind me in line, would he cover me, or pity me?If John Kerry were a truly generous soul, wouldn't he just cover the other person's shortfall as a neighborly gesture without marital status even being an issue?
"Before me, he probably would have asked you out for a cup of coffee and paid the bill," Heinz Kerry said. "Today, I don't know what he would do, he doesn't even go shopping anymore, the poor guy."
UPDATE: Comments Adam points out that it would be more correct to interpret the "liberal scum" comment as referring to Brodeur herself:
"I wish Teresa would talk to me," [a Washington Times reporter] whined. "I've been trying to get five minutes all week. And I've been nothing but nice."So Heinz Kerry is apparently willing to talk only to scummy liberal reporters. I stand corrected. I know a few liberals and they're nice folks - one of them even runs Permanent Defense (www.permanentdefense.org). Granted that does NOT make ALL liberals NICE, but calling liberals "scum" makes it sound like you think all liberals ARE scum!!!
