Patty Murray, call your office

Another girls' school opened in Afghanistan. I doubt Osama bin Laden had much to do with it.

Maybe the Seattle Post-Intelligencer will even call me a Nazi for pointing this out!

1. You're funny, Stefan...

CNN reported back in September that the Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control told the Senate that bin Laden was a benefit to fundamentalist Islam -- and I would suppose terrorists, by extension -- not only because he was a rich man from a powerful country, but that he was trusted for his ability to receive and dispose of charitable monies.

It doesn't matter if Murray made a mistake about child care facilities. And Republicans like yourself are being sleazy by suggesting she supports bin Laden because of her fact-based statements.

She has simply stated in the past that many people in the Islamic world support him and his causes because they believe he's supported them charitably and the U.S. has not. And there is evidence from our own government which makes that case, not her own wild conjecture.

2. "It doesn't matter if Murray made a mistake about child care facilities."

I see. So the facts and accuracy don't matter. Murray just believes that Osama is perceived as a good guy. Hmmm.

Well maybe Murray believes that Osama is a good guy because if he were like other American liberals, he would be building daycare facilities with taxdollars.

3. and by the way, Osama uses these charities to conceal funding for terrorist activities. This is primarily how terrorist organizations launder money.

But Osama Mamma Murray didn't mention that did she? Just praise for Osama.

Dear Senator

I would like for you to explain these comments.

“We’ve got to ask, why is this man [Osama bin Laden] so popular around the world? Why are people so supportive of him in many countries ... that are riddled with poverty? ... He’s been out in these countries for decades, building roads, building schools, building infrastructure, building day care facilities, building health care facilities, and the people are extremely grateful. ... We have not done that.”—US Sen. Patty Murray (D–Wash.)

It distresses me greatly how painfully ignorant you are of the many wonderful things this country has done for all nations, Muslim nations included among them. You had to have voted for the foreign aid packages. How can you say such a foolish thing? “We have not done that”.

Yes we have! Who was first and with the most aid for the victims of that horrible tsunami? Not France. Not Germany. Not Russia. It was us.

The United States of America is the most wonderful and generous nation on Earth. No other comes close. We are a superpower that does not shrink from our many responsibilities. We may not be perfect, but we do what we can.

We in no way “had it coming” as many have said.

Second, how can to phrase such a vile and evil creature as Osama bin Laden? He is no humanitarian. Just the opposite. He is the enemy of freedom, particularly for women I might add. He is the enemy of civilization itself.

You are a very stupid woman if you can’t see that.

5. Mr. McCommas,

You need to do a little check. The Europeans give the equivalent of $20.00 in foreign aid to every dollar the US gives. Furthermore their aid consist of Humanitarian. Our aid to foreign countries consist mostly of military aid. I thought I should let you know that. You can check those facts.
