Who's the right-wing extremist here?

The Washington Democrats, faced with the first competitive GOP gubernatorial candidate in decades, have no choice but to try to falsely smear him as a right-wing extremist:

"The people of the state of Washington do not want right-wing conservatives," said two-term Democratic Gov. Gary Locke, speaking last night at Gregoire's victory party.

"Dino Rossi is just as conservative as Ellen Craswell and John Carlson," Locke said

That's a dangerous approach to take in the current campaign, Gary. Unlike your nominee, Kkkristine Gregoire, who represents the Orval Faubus wing of the Democrat Party, Dino Rossi has never been the president of a segregated social club.

1. Great post. Can't say much more than that Locke's & Gregoire's comments neither faze nor surprise me at all as a Rossi supporter. Too many of my fellow Dems are in denial about Gridlocke's tenure, about how Eymanism came about, about grassroot resentment regarding Boeing, and I could go on. Gregoire has shown NO independence from Gridlocke and moreover, has rubber stamped his administration. To me, that's a serious issue for Rossi to take up - not this old 'when I was Prez, I may or may not have been racist. When I was alum advisor, I changed with the times.' That's not a real issue to at least 90% of voters.

2. "I will push for full performance audits. Full performance audits will reduce the need for Initiatives, save us as least hundreds of millions, and create actual incentive for change."

4. Rossi's no right wing wacko.

He's just a Boeing lapdog like The dem nominee.

Any vote either way for the governors race is a waste of ink and paper.
