Primary Endorsements

These are my personal endorsements for the September 14 primary ballot. Other Sound Politics contributors may have different recommendations.

Note: An endorsement for a Democrat in a race with a competitive Republican is a nod to the less electable Democrat in the field. I'm not recommending that that anybody vote in the Democrat primary, but if you do, always vote for the weaker Democrat. If you happen to live in the 36th Legislative District [northwest Seattle neighborhoods including Ballard, Magnolia and Queen Anne], then you really do want to vote in the Democrat primary. Scroll to the bottom for details.

Be sure to vote in the State House of Representatives race for Helen Sommers and not for Alice Woldt. The winner is certain to win the general election. Sommers is a solidly liberal Democrat, but at least she's a responsible grown-up. Alice Woldt is running as the standard-bearer of the outer-space wing of the Democrat party and she has strong support from public employee unions and other parasites and lunatics. She would be a disaster in the legislature. See my earlier commentary about Woldt here, here and my favorite: the threat e-mail sent to me by Woldt's wastrel son Timmy

1. Good reccomendations, save with at least one exception - Jim Rogers for Superior Court.

Personally I don't vote on too many judicial races unless I actually have some direct knowledge.

2. Can you give some insight into why you picked Nobles for Lt.Gov? That and Insurance Commish are the only lines not filled out on my absentee ballot.
