Seattle Weakly: "We don't report, but decide for you anyway"

The Seattle Weakly endorsed the Families and Education Levy today:

Opponents say these programs have been ineffective and lack accountability, and that the city would have too much discretion in spending. We disagree with the former and think the latter is fine. It's time voters stopped micromanaging. Vote Yes.
It would have been nice if the Weakly had actually talked with us opponents before rejecting our arguments. I e-mailed the Weakly education reporter on August 26th offering to discuss the levy. I didn't get a reply. Nor has the Weakly done any of its own reporting on the levy.

The main reason most people read the Seattle Weakly is for the hooker ads. If you're one of those who insist on also getting political commentary with your hooker ads (for example, just in case your boss or husband walks in the room while you're looking at the ads and you have to quickly flip to a different page) you're better off with The Stranger. Same great hooker ads, and their political commentary is screamingly funny and occasionally unpredictable and enlightening. On the other hand, the Weakly's commentary is as reliably and boringly left-leaning as a stale tofu sandwich.

We award the Weakly a coveted spot on our honor roll of Unsound Institutions!
