Fun with Strangers

I had about the most fun I've had since moving to Seattle when I met with the editorial board of the weekly newspaper The Stranger yesterday afternoon. Pat Dolan and I were there debating two representatives from the Families and Education Levy campaign (more about the lame-ass weasels from the levy campaign, here).

I was almost expecting the stridently liberal/progressive Stranger to be an even bigger cheerleader for the levy than the P-I was. In fact, the staff were genuinely undecided and asked smarter, tougher and more skeptical questions about the initiative than the boards at either of the two dailies. Editor-in-chief / world-famous sex advice columnist Dan Savage asked some of the toughest questions of all. And they kept cracking jokes. Another feather in their cap: some of them confess to reading (and liking!) the Shark Blog and Sound Politics.

I won't predict how the Strangers willl come down on the levy, but they made us all work pretty hard to justify our respective positions.
